Tell Your Fear to Stuff It

cherylfliesWhy this photo is important: Cheryl is flying. Seriously. Minutes before, when Melissa (to the right in the photo) explained burpee over-unders to Cheryl, there was deathly silence. When you’re as tall as Cheryl, the ground is a long way down. But Cheryl wouldn’t accept the substitute of step-overs. Instead, she stood in front of the rope, told fear to go to hell, and jumped. And then she did it again and again in the workout. Yeah. You go, Cheryl.

It’s not the jump that is important here, it’s the conquering of the fear. The jump might save your workout, but the ability to tell your fear to go to hell can change your life. So many people, in so many ways in life, are scared to do what they want to do. Don’t be one of them. Step up. Do what you fear to do. Sure, it will be scary. But when you’re done? You’ll look back and see nothing but vapor. You will own this life you live. You will own your fear, instead of your fear owning you. You will own yourself.

The ground is always a long way down. So what. Be like Cheryl. Jump.
